Over 800 BC Hydro customers lose power after vehicle crash on Chilliwack Lake Road

CHILLIWACK — Over 800 BC Hydro customers in Chilliwack have been without power for several hours Monday morning after a vehicle crash occurred on Chilliwack Lake Road.
BC Hydro wrote on its power outage dashboard on its website that 838 customers lost power Monday morning at 8:01 a.m. due to a motor vehicle incident. Power could be restored by 2 p.m.
The affected customers live mostly along the Chilliwack Lake Road corridor starting in the west near Baker Trails, and continuing east along the road through to Post Creek, a rustic subdivision just west of Chilliwack Lake.
BC Hydro crews are on site. Its website was last updated at 10:28 a.m. Monday.
According to a image provided to Fraser Valley Today, a vehicle appears to have crashed and knocked a power pole on its side, causing it to lean to the left.
Chilliwack RCMP blocked Chilliwack Lake Road in both directions Monday morning as a result of the vehicle incident. Chilliwack Fire Department was also dispatched to the vehicle incident.
