Power restored after nearly 3,000 lose power Sunday evening in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — Two separate power outages have left nearly 3,000 customers without power Sunday evening in Chilliwack, Rosedale, Popkum, Cheam First Nation and west of the Bridal Falls area.
According to BC Hydro’s dashboard, 1,511 customers in Rosedale lost power at 6:18 p.m. Sunday evening in an area east of Wedgewood Drive (Fairfield Island), west of McGrath Road and north of Chilliwack Central Road. The cause is under investigation.
In a second outage east of the original one, 1,419 customers lost power at 6:20 p.m. in an area west of Bridal Falls Road, north of Allan Road and south of Tuyttens Road. This outage is also under investigation.
Hydro crews are on site to address the issue. BC Hydro’s website was last updated at 7:04 p.m.
It marks the third power outage in three days in the Popkum area. On Thursday, customers in Rosedale, Popkum and Cheam FN lost power for several hours due to two separate outages.
