Inmate serving a life sentence, dies while in custody at Mission Institution

MISSION — Corrections Canada says an inmate at the Mission Institution died in custody on July 27. Ryan Brady was 59 years old.
Brady had been in custody since 1986. He began serving a life sentence on April 1, 1986.
A news release from the federal agency says the inmate died of apparent natural causes. A review of the circumstances of the man’s death will be conducted. Corrections Canada has a policy to review the events surrounding all in-custody deaths.
The Mission Institution is a medium security facility.
