Annual Chilliwack Fair returns for 153rd year this weekend

CHILLIWACK — One of B.C.’s oldest farm fairs is back for its 153rd year in Chilliwack.
From August 8 to 10, the annual Chilliwack Fair will be returning to Chilliwack Heritage Park with rodeos, food trucks, farm animals and more.
“Despite being the foundation on which it was built, the Fair is about much more than agriculture,” wrote the Fair.
“Opportunities to participate in the Fair are countless, whether it’s as a 4-H member showing a favourite animal, an entrant in the annual Fruit Pie Baking Contest, an event sponsor, or a volunteer of the many different capacities held during Fair time.”
This year’s “Barnyard Bash” also features a host of live music performances, with double-platinum-selling country star Aaron Goodvin set to headline on Friday, August 8.
Barns will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, then closing at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Outdoor grounds are set to open on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
A complete schedule, tickets and more information are all available through the Chilliwack Fair website.
