1 suspect arrested after Tuesday night assault with a weapon in Chilliwack: RCMP

CHILLIWACK — A spokesperson for the Chilliwack RCMP detachment says one person was arrested Tuesday night after an assault with a weapon in the area of Wolfe Road, near Townsend Park.
According to a statement from RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Alexandra Mulvihill, police were called to the 45000 block of Wolfe Road Tuesday evening at approximately 8:10 p.m.
One male suffered non-life-threatening injuries from an assault with a weapon, Sgt. Mulvihill said.
The parties are known to each other and the suspect was arrested at the scene.
“There is no risk to the public and the investigation is still on going,” Sgt. Mulvihill said.
B.C. Emergency Health Services paramedics initially paged an air ambulance for a potential launch around the time of the assault, but later canceled it. Scanner traffic indicated paramedics mentioned a “puncture wound” and the victim would be treated at a local health facility.
