Chilliwack shooting Friday night linked to gang conflict

CHILLIWACK — RCMP in Chilliwack are investigating a shooting that left one person injured and damaged several homes Friday (Sept. 26) night.
In a news release, Mounties say they were called to a property on Crimson Ridge at about 9:45 p.m. to a report of shots fired outside a residence.
When officers arrived at the residence, they found blood and shell casings. Police say the individual suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Several homes in the area were struck by bullets, but luckily there were no other injuries reported.
Police say the shooting was targeted and linked to the ongoing gang conflict.
Shortly after the shooting, police were alerted to a burned out Mazda CX5 in the area of Teskey Way and Bailey Road. RCMP are working to determine whether the vehicle is connected to the incident.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses and for anyone with dashcam or security footage from the area to come forward.
