RCMP investigate sexual assault in White Rock Friday morning

WHITE ROCK — Police are seeking more information on a sexual assault report that occurred near a White Rock park on Friday (Oct. 3).
RCMP say at 10 a.m., the suspect punched and groped the victim around the stairs in the 14900 block of Prospect Avenue before running away southbound through the park.
The victim sustained minor injuries. The Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) later attended the location to process the scene.
Initial findings suggest that the assault was unprovoked.
“Given the violent nature of this assault, we are encouraging members of our community to exercise vigilance while our investigators work to identify and locate the suspect,” said White Rock RCMP Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant Rob Dixon.
The suspect is described as a 30- to 40-year-old Caucasian man about six feet tall, wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up, khaki pants, and white shoes.
