CHILLIWACK — Traffic has seemingly come to a standstill on Highway 1 in Chilliwack as construction crews work to repair the damage from a big rig crash earlier this week.
On Saturday (Aug. 16) at 8:34 a.m., DriveBC reported that eastbound cable installation between Prest and Annis Road has blocked the left lane.
“Watch for crews and reduce speed in the area,” wrote the agency.
Residents on social media also shared that crews are on site to fix the middle posts and cables damaged in the accident on Thursday involving a tractor-trailer.
Some drivers have also opted to take a detour down Prairie Central Road to avoid the roughly 18-minute delay.
DriveBC estimates work to continue until about 11 a.m.
