UPDATE: Chilliwck RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says the unknown suspect in a bus assault has been named.

CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly assaulted a bus driver in mid-March 2026.
According to a news release, police were called to a report of an assault on a bus near South Sumas Road and Vedder Road on March 16, just after 6 p.m. Police learned that a passenger had allegedly assaulted a bus driver who sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
Despite ongoing investigative efforts, Chilliwack RCMP have been unable to identify the passenger and/or suspect. Officers have obtained video footage showing a man leaving the area following the assault.
The man is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 18-19 years old, standing 6 feet tall with a slender build, and having brown, wavy hair. The suspect was wearing a red jacket with fur on the hood, a grey sweatshirt underneath the jacket and blue jeans with ripped knees.
Anyone who recognizes the individual or might have information that could aid the police investigation is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and reference file 2026-10651.
