LANGLEY — B.C.’s police watchdog is now seeking more information on an arrest that led to one man being seriously injured.
Langley RCMP told the Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIO) that officers responded to an alleged domestic dispute near the 4200 block of 208 Street at around 11:20 p.m. Friday, May 22.
“Police arrived at the scene and located the man who was the subject of the report,” the IIO continued. “Officers arrested the man, who sustained a serious but not life-threatening injury during the interaction.”
The man was then taken to hospital.
The IIO has since begun investigating to determine whether the incident meets the threshold for serious harm and whether it’s connected to officer action or inaction.
If both conditions are met, the chief civilian director will consider whether an offence took place.
Any witnesses with information on this matter are asked to contact the IIO at 1-855-446-8477 or online via its contact form.
