OneBC leader to visit Langley Thursday as she rallies support for two candidates

LANGLEY – OneBC leader Dallas Brodie will visit Langley this Thursday as she stumps for two candidates from the Fraser Valley.

In a statement from the party, OneBC says Dallas Brodie will hold an event this Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Murrayville Community Memorial Hall, alongside Shelly Jan, OneBC candidate for Langley-Abbotsford, and Shubham Joshi, candidate for Langley-Willowbrook.

Attendees are invited to come out, meet the team, ask questions and hear about the party’s vision for British Columbia. Murrayville Community Memorial Hall is located at 21667 48 Avenue in Langley.

OneBC says Shelly Jan has a strong background and a proven commitment to advocacy.

“She is working hard to bring a strong, principled, and accountable voice to the BC Legislature for Langley-Abbotsford,” OneBC wrote in a statement. “As the only candidate who lives and works in the riding, Shelly understands the importance of representing local residents and addressing the issues that matter to our community.”

Shelly Jan, a career teacher with a master’s degree in education, is looking to prioritize responsible provincial governance, school and healthcare capacity, removing SOGI 123, repealing DRIPA, and protecting farmland.

“Langley-Abbotsford deserves a strong voice who respects residents, stands up for the community, and demands accountability from the government of British Columbia,” Jan said.

She first ran in the 2020 B.C. election and was nominated to represent Langley-Abbotsford twice in 2024.

Harman Bhangu is the incumbent MLA who has represented Langley-Abbotsford the past two years. The NDP candidate in this riding is Erin Osborne.
