Youths on e-bikes ringing doorbells dare homeowner to call police; Chilliwack RCMP respond, seize e-bikes

CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack say several youths on electronic dirt bikes who rang doorbells and challenged a homeowner to call police thinking they wouldn’t get caught wound up getting a dose of humility last week.

According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener for the week of Oct. 12-18, police were notified about reports of several youths on e-dirt bikes ringing doorbells on Wilson Road, threatening to come back, and daring the homeowner to call police.

Not only was the dare accepted, Chilliwack RCMP officers arrived and engaged with the youth, who subsequently fled.

Two youths were quickly arrested by another officer who was waiting nearby.

The e-dirt bikes were seized, and the youths were released to their parents as the investigation continues.

No further details were released by police.
