CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack-Hope MP Mark Strahl is encouraging eligible employers to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program to hire young Canadians next summer.
The program provides wage subsidies to help employers create summer work opportunities for youth aged 15 to 30, allowing them to gain skills and experience needed to enter the workforce.
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and private-sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees.
The application period for funding jobs in the summer of 2027 closes December 3.
“I encourage eligible employers to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program,” Strahl said. “Both local employers and young people have benefited from this program in the past.”
The program aims to support quality summer employment experiences for young people while helping employers bring youth into their workplaces.
Employers can find more information and apply through the federal government’s Canada Summer Jobs website at Canada.ca/CanadaSummerJobs.
