Section of Highway 10 in Surrey closed due to fallen trees, hydro lines

SURREY – Police in Surrey are advising the public that Highway 10 between 180 Street and 184 Street is closed Saturday night due to a road hazard.

Surrey Police Service spokesperson Sgt. Ali Gailus says the road will likely be closed for an extended period due to a road hazard.

Sgt. Gailus says BC Hydro and City of Surrey crews may need to work overnight to address the road hazard.

SPS would also like to remind the public to stay indoors during the current windstorm and if you must be on the roads, be aware of downed wires (stay at least 33 feet away), trees and traffic signals that are not working.

SPS personnel are thanking the public for their assistance.

DriveBC posted at 12:32 a.m. early Sunday that the road hazards involved fallen trees and hydro lines.
