New restaurant coming to Eagle Landing shopping centre in Chilliwack
CHILLIWACK — A new restaurant is slated to occupy the former Original Joe’s that closed around Christmas 2024 in the Eagle Landing shopping centre in Chilliwack.
Happy Jack’s Restaurant has signage outside unit 302, 8249 Eagle Landing Parkway, next to Sally Beauty Supply, heralding its arrival. It currently has a location on Vancouver Island in Parksville.
“We’re excited to announce that Happy Jack’s is expanding to the Fraser Valley!” Happy Jack’s wrote on its website. “Our new location at Eagle Landing Shopping Centre will bring the same great food, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere that guests have come to love on Vancouver Island.”
The company says renovations are ongoing, but hasn’t disclosed a possible opening date.
“Renovations are underway, and we can’t wait to open our doors to the community. Follow us on social media for updates, sneak peeks, and opening announcements – and get ready to experience Northern Flavours, Island & Valley Hospitality,” it wrote on its website.
Happy Jack’s will offer a weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with interesting menu names like “The Trilogy” (three eggs, three bacon slices, three sausages, two slices of toast and bottomless hash browns) for $18, or the “Double Trouble” (2 eggs/2 slices of bacon/2 sausages/2 slices of toast and bottomless hash browns) for $16. They plan to feature fruit-topped waffles and breakfast omelettes.
For lunch and dinner, Happy Jack’s will serve menu items like garlic dry ribs, pulled pork poutine, firetruck nachos, wings, salads, wraps, tonnes of different hamburgers, fish and chips, bangers and mash, baby back ribs and a 6-ounce steak sandwich. It will feature a full dessert menu as well.
Happy Jack’s says it previously opened in Chilliwack under a different branded restaurant name.
“Sometimes life brings you right back to where it all began – but with a whole new story to tell. Back in 2012, we opened and operated a restaurant in Chilliwack under a different banner – long before Happy Jack’s was even an idea,” Happy Jack’s said. “Those early days were where our passion for hospitality first took shape. The lessons learned, the friendships built, and the pride of serving the local community all became part of the foundation that would one day inspire us to create our own brand. Years later, after building a life and a new restaurant on Vancouver Island, we saw the opportunity to bring everything we’ve learned back to where it all began – this time, as Happy Jack’s, in the very same space.”
