Update: Eastbound Highway 1 clear after motor vehicle crash in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK – A motor vehicle incident on Highway 1 in Chilliwack has completely clogged eastbound traffic on Victoria Day this morning.

DriveBC reported at 11:04 a.m. Monday that an eastbound vehicle incident before Annis Road (Exit 129) has the left lane blocked.

Facebook user Jason Pluhowy reported in a Facebook group that a two-car accident occurred between the Gibson Road overpass and the Annis Road exit.

“Accident in fast lane against center guard rails. No emergency crews on scene when I went through at 10:25 a.m. Traffic is starting to back up to Gibson Road overpass.”

Google Maps traffic shows dark red for eastbound Highway 1 motorists shortly after Prest Road (exit 123). It eases up about 1 km west of Annis Road for eastbound travellers.
