Rollover in Chilliwack leaves motorist with life-threatening injuries: RCMP

UPDATE: Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says the rollover left the motorist with life-threatening injuries.
“We responded to a single vehicle rollover and the driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Integrated Collision Analysis Response Service attended to examine the scene and the off-ramp at Vedder was closed for several hours,” Cpl. Kiener said. “The investigation is ongoing and we cannot speak to the driver’s impairment at this time.”

CHILLIWACK – Chilliwack first responders were called to Highway 1 in Chilliwack Wednesday night after a motorist driving a SUV crashed.
Chilliwack Fire crews, BC Ambulance Service paramedics and RCMP personnel responded to the area near the Highway 1/Vedder Road on-ramp for a rollover at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday (May 20).
The motorist was reportedly ejected from the vehicle.
Glass shards and other debris were present on the ground where the vehicle overturned.
Two BCEHS paramedics responded.
“BC Emergency Health Services received a call at 7:21 p.m. today for a motor vehicle incident at Highway 1 and Vedder Road and responded with two ambulances. Paramedics cared for and transported one patient to hospital in critical condition,” BCEHS spokesperson Peter Darbyshire told Fraser Valley Today in an email.
