LANGLEY — The Township of Langley is cashing in on World Cup festivities by hosting its own viewing events at the Langley Events Centre.
Residents are invited to the Stadium for live FIFA match broadcasts on a brand-new video board while enjoying entertainment, kids’ soccer and various concessions.
“Hosting World Cup viewing opportunities is an incredible way to bring our community together around a shared global movement,” said Township of Langley Mayor Eric Woodward.
“These events will create a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere where fans can celebrate the game and watch the best players compete on the world’s biggest stage.”
Viewing opportunities for the two games on June 14 will be held inside the Banquet Hall, with the Arena Bowl serving as a backup venue for all matches in case of unfavourable weather.
Events are organized in part with Vancouver FC and the Langley United Soccer Association.
More details on programming and activities are set to be announced at a later date.
The Langley Centennial Museum is also set to host a World Cup Party with support from the federal government on Canada Day, July 1.
