Agassiz-Harrison Lions Club members step up with huge donation toward local swim club

AGASSIZ-HARRISON – Members of the Agassiz-Harrison Lions Club are reinforcing their motto of “We Serve” every chance they get.

The Agassiz-Harrison Lions Club announced on Canada Day today that it is proud to donate $40,000 to the Agassiz-Harrison Aquanauts Swim Club toward much-needed equipment for use at the new Lets’emot Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre (LRRAC).

A member of the club, Lion Darcy, was pleased to present the cheque on behalf of the club.

The Aquanauts have been a part of the Agassiz-Harrison community since 1978. They help develop strong swimming techniques, confident athletes, and lasting friendships among its participants.

“The new pool will provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn lifesaving swimming skills, improve their health through aquatic fitness, participate in competitive sport, support rehabilitation, and enjoy a welcoming space for families to stay active,” the Agassiz-Harrison Lions Club wrote online.
