ABBOTSFORD — A section of Clearbrook Road is set to slim down after the weekend as work to widen Highway 1 continues in Abbotsford.
The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit has advised drivers of a temporary lane reduction on the Clearbrook Road structure, effective as early as Monday, July 6.
“This traffic-pattern change is necessary to allow crews to complete deck modifications to the structure,” said the Ministry. “This work is a key component of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program.”
Traffic will be down to two lanes in each direction, as the north- and south-bound median lanes will be closed.
Anyone travelling through the area, including the off-ramps from Highway 1, is asked to drive safely, watch for signs and roadside workers, and plan for delays due to congestion from both the diversions and the FIFA World Cup.
The lane reductions are scheduled to be in place until July 18, with the timeline being weather-dependent.
