Update: Highway 1 clear through Abbotsford after accident blocked 2 westbound lanes

UPDATE, 9:08 A.M. TUESDAY: DriveBC now says Highway 1 westbound through Abbotsford is clear following this morning’s motor vehicle incident.

ABBOTSFORD – Two lanes of westbound Highway 1 are blocked through Abbotsford Tuesday morning due to a motor vehicle incident, resulting in westbound traffic being backed up several kilometres.

DriveBC reported at 7:59 a.m. that a motor vehicle incident westbound on Highway 1 before McCallum Road (exit 90) has the left lane and centre blocked.

Traffic is backed up for several kilometres as of 8:35 a.m.

Google Maps shows traffic backed up as far west as Cole Road (exit 99 equivalent) as of 8:35 a.m.

The Pulse Point app indicates the accident happened at 7:46 a.m. Tuesday morning. Two ambulances were notified about the accident, of which one ambulance arrived to transport any possible patients. The medical call within the Pulse Point app is still open as of 8:39 a.m., meaning it’s still active.
