Patient airlifted after crash between SUV and commercial truck Thursday in Langley: RCMP

LANGLEY – One person has been airlifted to hospital in critical condition after a crash between an SUV and a commercial truck Thursday afternoon in Langley.

Langley RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Zynal Sharoom says police were called to 208 Street and 16 Avenue Thursday at about 12:50 p.m. after getting reports of a motor vehicle collision.

First responders from the Township of Langley Fire Department, British Columbia Ambulance Service, and Langley RCMP immediately attended the scene.

“One individual was airlifted to a local area hospital in critical condition,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. “The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been deployed to assist with the investigation.”

Road closures are in effect in the immediate area and are expected to remain in place for several hours while investigators continue their work. Motorists and other road users are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
