Stolen pick-up truck carrying $10K worth of golf clubs returned: AbbyPD

ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford have successfully returned a pick-up truck found nearly 300 kilometres away from home back to its owner this week.

The Abbotsford Police Department says the Ford F-150 was found shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, in the 3100 block of Mt. Lehman Road.

Patrol officers recovered the vehicle by deploying a spike belt, but the suspect tried to run away despite both driver’s side tires being deflated.

Officers were then able to box the vehicle in with help from police dogs. The suspect was arrested without further incident.

“The vehicle’s owner was relieved to have the truck returned and was equally pleased to learn that approximately $10,000 worth of golf clubs stored inside had also been recovered,” said AbbyPD.

The truck was initially reported stolen out of Kamloops.
