Cash, car connected to drug trafficking forfeited after Mission RCMP investigation

MISSION – Mounties in Mission say cash generated from illegal drug sales and a vehicle connected to drug trafficking have been forfeited as a result of a police investigation.

Mission RCMP Corporal Harrison Mohr says members of the agency’s Crime Reduction Unit were checking on the house of a known offender linked to violent crimes and the drug trade on February 13, 2026.  As they did, they observed someone else’s car leaving the residence. Police conducted database checks and discovered that the car had been pulled over in Maple Ridge a couple of weeks earlier. Police also learned the driver had been found to be in possession of cash and an undisclosed quantity of drugs consistent with drug trafficking activities.

Mission officers followed the vehicle and pulled it over a short time later.  As a result of the driver’s history, along with items posing a potential risk to public safety visible inside the vehicle, police searched the vehicle and located a rifle scope, cash, and a quantity of fentanyl that was deemed consistent with drug trafficking. 

The car, cash, drugs and rifle scope were seized, and the matter was referred to the Civil Forfeiture Office of British Columbia. 

On July 14, 2026, the Civil Forfeiture Office confirmed that the cash and the man’s 2011 Kia Soul have been accepted for forfeiture to the Province of BC. Police did not reveal the name of the man involved in drug trafficking.

Police are thanking the Civil Forfeiture Office for their continued partnership and assistance, and will continue referring seized property and cash to their office whenever appropriate. 

“Anyone who uses their vehicle, residence, or other property to commit crimes, or who obtains cash or property as a result of crimes they commit, should be aware that they risk those items being seized and forfeited, even if no criminal charges are laid,” Cpl. Harrison Mohr said.
