Abbotsford police search for man who tried to kidnap two young girls

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford police are asking for the public’s help in finding the alleged suspect of an attempted abduction earlier this week.

On Wednesday, July 22, at around 5:30 p.m., an unknown man reportedly approached two girls under the age of 10 while they were playing outside their apartment complex at 33538 Marshall Road. 

He then tried to lure them into his car, but one of the girls called out for her parents, leading the suspect to leave the area.

The girls were not physically hurt during the incident.

The suspect is described as a South Asian man in his 50s, between 5’5” and 5’9” tall, with a “heavy build and noticeable belly”.

Investigators say he may be involved in a light-coloured sedan.

The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating. Anyone who recognizes the man or has information that may help find him is urged to contact police.
