Police seek information for man who died in Langley, B.C., on Canada Day

LANGLEY — Homicide investigators in British Columbia say they’re releasing the name of a man found seriously injured in Langley on Canada Day who later died in hospital.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says 75-year-old Larry Greig was found on the evening of July 1 near Park Ave. and Douglas Crescent and was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police say Greig died on July 9, and homicide investigators began working with Langley RCMP, the forensic identification services and the BC Coroners Service.

Investigators say Greig is believed to have been in a “physical altercation” after leaving a “licensed establishment,” which police did not name in a statement.

The homicide team says its investigators want to speak with people in the area when Greig was found, releasing photos of three men and a blurry photo of a woman believed to be running in the area at the time.

Police say they released Greig’s name to advance the investigation.
