Power restored to over 1,500 residents after motor vehicle accident along Prairie Central Road

CHILLIWACK — More than 1,500 residents have lost power for a few minutes after a motor vehicle incident Monday morning (Aug. 3).

At around 7:36 a.m., BC Hydro crews were called in to a report of lines down along the Chilliwack River and Prairie Central Roads, with scanner traffic reporting a pole sheared off.

BC Ambulance was paged out to the scene for a traffic incident shortly after.

Prairie Central between Prest Road and Luckakuck Way had reportedly been closed in both lanes as a result.

Customers from east of Prest Road, the 7900 block of Chilliwack River Road, and the 46200 to 47100 blocks of Prairie Central Road were affected.

Power returned to the area just before 10 a.m.
