CHILLIWACK — A local business is inviting residents – and their furry friends – to a howling good time this upcoming spooky season.
The Howl-O-Ween Halloween Market is coming to Fairfield Island on Saturday, October 24. Dog lovers can expect a full day of exploring local businesses and crafters while enjoying live music and concessions from food vendors, as well as take part in a Best Dressed Dog contest for the chance to win a prize.
“I just wanted to create a community event that was something that I would want to go to if I was a vendor too,” said Nicole Weber, organizer and founder of ChocoPup.
“ChocoPup was created with dogs at the heart of everything we do, so hosting a community event where people can bring their dogs and enjoy a day together was a natural fit.”
Weber, who also owns a cat and a 180-pound Bernese-Husky-Lab mix, had previously hosted a fundraising event for pet lovers in Ontario.
She now hopes that this community event marks the first of many dog-friendly markets hosted by ChocoPup.
“We want this to be more than just a market. We want it to be a fun day where local businesses, families and dog lovers can come together and support our community.”
The event is set to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fairfield Park.
Local vendors are still wanted. More information and inquiries can be found by contacting Weber at hotchocolatefordogs@gmail.com.
