KAMLOOPS – The superintendent of the Kamloops and Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP detachments has issued a statement strongly condemning a gathering of apparent white nationalists near Chief Eli Larue Way Sunday morning.
Supt. Jeff Pelley, Officer in Charge of the Kamloops and Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP, said frontline officers from the Tk’emlúps RCMP detachment received a report at 7:25 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 27) about a large group of individuals dressed in black clothing and wearing white masks near Chief Eli Larue Way.
Supt. Pelley says officers responded and engaged immediately with the group who subsequently departed the location and continued throughout various parts of the city.
“The posting of a banner bearing the words ‘got bones’, combined with the use of masks to conceal their identities while making such public statements, is a cowardly attempt to avoid accountability for actions and messages that are clearly intended to intimidate, provoke fear and division,” Supt. Pelley said. “The RCMP is taking this matter seriously and will continue to engage the group as part of our response and current ongoing investigation.”
Supt. Pelley said police will pursue all investigative measures possible.
“The RCMP’s position on this type of messaging is clear, and such and we will continue to ensure that all offences are thoroughly investigated to support potential prosecution,” Supt. Pelley said.
Police are asking anyone with information, photos or video footage of this incident, or knowledge of future gatherings, to contact the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment at 250-314-1800, or the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and cite file 2026-32566. Members of the public can remain anonymous by calling, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
In a post on X Sunday afternoon, interim BC Conservative Party leader Lorne Doerkson immediately condemned the gathering.
“The white nationalist gathering on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc land this morning was hateful and meant to intimidate,” reads Doerkson’s statement.
“It has no place in British Columbia, and BC Conservatives condemn it completely. We stand with the people of Tk’emlúps, and we expect the RCMP to investigate fully.”
In a similar post on X and Facebook Sunday, Chilliwack-Cultus Lake MLA Áʼa꞉líya Warbus criticized the gathering.

“I want to Echo our leader @LDoerkson statement today. I unequivocally condemn the White Nationalist gathering on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc land this morning. It is hateful and meant to intimidate,” Warbus said. That group does not reflect the values of the BC Conservatives that I envision for our province in any way. I stand with the people of Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc and expect a full investigation by the RCMP into this group.”
