CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack are appealing for witnesses and any other information following a collision between an E-scooter rider and a semi-truck in which the semi-truck driver allegedly failed to stay at the scene last weekend.
In a statement, Chilliwack RCMP Corporal Carmen Kiener says police responded to a collision in the 45000 block of Airport Road near the pedestrian railway crossing on Saturday evening, Oct. 3, at approximately 5:35 p.m. An adult male riding an E-scooter suffered injuries following a collision with a semi-truck.
Cpl. Kiener says the involved vehicle is described as a white semi-truck pulling a trailer. The truck allegedly continued driving from the area without stopping following the collision.
Cpl. Kiener says the E-scooter rider was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police say Airport Road was closed for a short period while officers conducted their investigation.
To further their investigation, Chilliwack RCMP investigators are seeking witnesses or anyone who may have dash camera footage or video surveillance from the area at the time of the collision.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and reference file # 2026-44367.
