SURREY – Police in Surrey are appealing to any past tenants of a Surrey landlord as it relates to any past interactions they may have had with a 48-year-old Surrey landlord, after the landlord was charged with break and enter earlier this month.
Surrey Police Service spokesperson S/Sgt. Lindsey Houghton says the agency’s Special Investigation Section (SIS) launched an investigation in January 2026 into allegations that a Surrey landlord had entered his tenant’s suite without permission and had inappropriately touched the tenant’s clothing.
On October 1, 2026, the BC Prosecution Service approved a charge of one count of break and enter against 48-year-old Balwinder Singh Bhandher, resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
Police say Balwinder Bhandher was arrested on his warrant on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, by SPS officers. He was released from custody on several conditions.
Police say this investigation remains active and additional criminal charges are possible.
SPS SIS investigators are urging anyone who may have been a tenant of Balwinder Bhandher, either in a basement suite located in a residence in the 13800 block 66 Avenue, Surrey, or in a previous residence where Bhandher was the landlord, and has information that may assist with SPS’s investigation, to please contact Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency number at 604-599-0502 and quote file 26-5005 (SP).
