ABBOTSFORD – Police in Abbotsford are appealing for witnesses to advance its investigation after a pickup truck collided with the rear of a tractor Monday, resulting in a roll over that left the tractor driver with life-threatening injuries.
According to a statement from the AbbyPD, patrol officers were notified about a two-vehicle collision on Vye Road, east of Cole Road, at just after 7 p.m. Monday night. The incident involved a pickup truck and a farm tractor.
Police say the driver of the tractor sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the pickup truck did not suffer serious injuries, remained at the scene, and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
Police have since learned through an investigation that both vehicles were travelling westbound on Vye Road when the pickup truck collided with the rear of the tractor. The impact caused the tractor to leave the roadway and roll over.
The investigation remains in its early stages and is being led by AbbyPD’s Patrol Section, with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, observed the truck and tractor prior to the crash, or may have dash camera footage of the incident, to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225. Abbotsford Police File: 2026-44768
