MISSION – Police in Mission are in the process of reviewing CCTV surveillance as they investigate an incident in which teens who were told to stop vaping on a bus allegedly spit at a transit operator.
Mission RCMP spokesperson Corporal Mohr says police were called to a BC Transit bus in Mission on Tuesday, October 13, at around 6:20 pm, after an altercation occurred aboard the bus.
Corporal Mohr says a passenger had notified the driver that a group of teens had been vaping on the bus. When the driver told them to stop, the teens allegedly started trying to spit on the driver.
Fortunately, the plastic shield around the bus driver prevented the spit from getting on him, and the teens ran off the bus.
Less than an hour later, a similar report was received from a different bus driver, with at least one of the suspect descriptions matching that of one of the suspects from the first bus.
Corporal Mohr says Mission RCMP are in the process of reviewing CCTV footage from the buses, and anticipate recommending charges against the youth.
