Local feline society to hold adoption events in Chilliwack, Abbotsford on Sunday

CHILLIWACK/ABBOTSFORD – The founder of a charitable cat society dedicated to improving the lives of felines in the Fraser Valley says it’s celebrating the adoption of over three dozen cats this month and hopes to find even more homes for local cats at four events this weekend.

Logan Bryan, founder of the Abby Cat Daddy, says 37 cats have been adopted already in October, and the society is looking to surpass 45 adoptions this month with events on Sunday, Oct. 25.

For National Adoption Week, events will be held at four PetSmart locations in Chilliwack, Abbotsford Sumas, Abbotsford Highstreet and Surrey Boardwalk on Sunday, Oct. 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Abby Cat Daddy is an independent charitable organization that is dedicated improving the lives of felines in local communities, with an emphasis on community cats.

Among its newest adoptees are DJ Zest, Wowzer and Ms. Fowl. Many more cats and kittens are still waiting for families of their own.

“These adoptions are especially important as the weather changes,” said Bryan. “We’re preparing for another wave of local cats and kittens needing shelter and care. Each adoption frees up space, while adoption fees help fund veterinary care, food and supplies for those still waiting and those who will need us next.”

He says cats adopted through Abby Cat Daddy are spayed or neutered, microchipped, tattooed, vaccinated and treated for parasites. Canadian adopters also receive a six-week Petsecure insurance trial, subject to eligibility and policy terms. Adoptions through PetSmart include a coupon book offering over $350 in savings, plus additional Treats Rewards perks for new pet parents.

“Thank mew for helping us find homes and make room for the next cats who need us,” Bryan said.
