Independent school in Mission thanks city, new mayor for bright new road signage

MISSION – An independent school in Mission is thanking the City of Mission and newly-inaugurated Mayor Jag Gill for bright new road signage near its campus.

Valley Christian School, located at 8955 Cedar Street in the northern part of Cedar Valley, applauded a bright new school sign painted onto the road.

The school says the signage serves as a friendly reminder to area motorists that a school campus exists at the top of Cedar Street.

“We want to give a big thank you to the City of Mission and Mayor Jag Gill for making our school zone more visible,” Valley Christian School said. “We are grateful for the extra reminder to drivers that there is a school at the top of Cedar! Thank you for helping to keep our students and families safe. And thanks to the awesome work crew for being good sports when our photographer caught them mid-task!”

Mayor Gill and his fellow councillors were installed on Monday night at the Clarke Foundation Theatre in Mission.
